Information Sharing Policy

 

Purpose

 

NeuroNurtured recognises the importance of sharing information appropriately to support children and young people while protecting confidentiality.

Information will only be shared where it is lawful, necessary and proportionate.

 

Consent

 

Before sharing information:

  • Written consent will normally be obtained from parents or carers.

  • Where appropriate, children and young people will also be involved in decisions about information sharing.

 

Situations Where Information May Be Shared

 

Information may be shared with:

  • Schools and educational settings

  • Health professionals

  • Local Authorities

  • Other professionals involved in supporting the child

  • Information will be limited to what is necessary to support the child’s needs.

 

Safeguarding

 

If there is a concern about the safety or welfare of a child or young person, information may be shared with safeguarding services without consent where required.

This follows guidance outlined in: Working Together to Safeguard Children
